Choosing the Right Yarn

If you’ve ever wanted to work up a project in a different yarn than the pattern calls for, this is the class for you! Sometimes, the recommended yarn for a pattern can be hard to find or expensive. Substituting a different yarn in can be a more economical or expressive way to make the same pattern. In this class, Sarah will talk about the properties of different types of yarn and why they behave the way they do. Swatches of each will be available. You will learn the differences between superwash and non-superwash wools, plied vs. single ply yarns, types of wool, plant fibers, and more. You’ll leave the class ready to sub in yarn like a pro!
