This cute hedgehog toy by Susan B. Anderson is the perfect project to get you comfortable using double pointed needles for more than just a hat. A super clever pattern with a seamless construction, “Hedgie” makes a quick and cute gift for a little one in your life.
In this two-part class, we will start with the bottom-up construction of Hedgie’s body and work our way up. To create the hedgehog quills, you will learn a new stitch for the texture on Hedgie’s back. By the second session of class, you will be bringing Hedgie to life by adding stuffing, eyes, and any other touches of personality you can think of!
Skills Required: Intermediate; must be comfortable knitting in the round and knitting a small circumference with small needles.
Materials: 100 yards of worsted weight yarn in two different colors, US size 5 needles (either DPNs or Flexi Flip needles by Addi), and a copy of the pattern “Hedgie” by Susan B. Anderson available for purchase on Ravelry.
